Description

Well Established, Highly Successful, Privately Owned, Engineering Company who Design, Fabricate, Install and Commission, Large Capital Projects within the Advanced Materials Sector, Providing Equipment from R&D Systems, (Universities and Institutions), to Large Scale Industrial Production Units, (Corporate Enterprises), Across the Globe, are Seeking a Research and Development Engineer to Join a Professional Team of Engineers, Involved in Innovative Science and Engineering

ROLE

  • Senior Role within the Company, Offering the Successful Candidate the Opportunity for Continual Professional Development, Occasional International Travel, and Stimulating Research Work in Several Key Material Sectors in a Growing Global Market
  • Leading Team Members in Research Projects, Spanning Government and Corporate Funded Contracts
  • Management of the Ongoing Critical Analysis Review of Company Technology and Products to Ensure Optimum Performance and Cost Benefits

REQUIRED

  • Materials Science/Physicist who Can Clearly Demonstrate an In-Depth Understanding of the Global Materials Industry
  • Proven Research Management Experience in a Commercially Orientated Environment
  • Post Doctorate - PhD in a Relevant Subject – ideally Research and Development Material Science/Metallurgy - Consideration will be given to Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry or Physics Subjects
  • Several Years of Relevant Commercial Experience in a Research or Industrial Organisation
  • Knowledge of All, or Some of, Gas Atomisation, Induction Heating, Fluid Physics, Chemical Vapour Deposition, Fluidised Beds Physical Vapour Deposition, Wire Casting and Melt Spinning, Thermal Vacuum and Pressure Systems
  • Experience of Leading Team Members of Research Projects, Spanning Government and Corporate Funded Contracts
  • Ability to Manage the Ongoing Critical Analysis Review of Company Technology and Products to Ensure Optimum Performance and Cost Benefits
  • Demonstrable Ability to Work Consistently, Under Times of Pressure
  • Self-Motivated Personality, with the Drive to Achieve Excellence in All Activities Undertaken
  • Involvement in Occasional UK Travel and Short Overseas Visits in Support of a Worldwide Customer Base

REMUNERATION

  • £30K to £45K Subject to Experience
