Well Established, Successful, Privately Owned, Engineering Company who Design, Fabricate, Install and Commission, Large Capital Projects within the Metal Processing Sector are Seeking to Add a Procurement Manager to Compliment the Leadership Team

Working in a Highly Conducive, Pleasant and Rewarding Environment the Successful Applicant will Join a Professional Team of Engineers, Involved in Innovative Science and Engineering

ROLE

  • Direction and Management of the Company’s Purchase of Engineered Components, Materials and Services
  • Investigate, Develop and Negotiate with Future New Potential Suppliers, According to Requirements
  • Lead by Example and Develop a Coordinated Approach to the Areas of Purchasing, Scheduling and Cost Management
  • Managing and Motivating a Small Team of Purchasing Administrators and Appointed Sub-Contractors
  • Working Closely with the Design Engineering and Manufacturing Managers to Coordinate and Plan Requirements, According to Project/Contract Deadlines
  • Deliver Projects According to Agreed Budget Costs and Agreed Lead Times
  • Clear Concise, Coordinated Disciplined Leadership Approach to the Company’s Current and Future Objectives
  • Conferring Concisely with Directors and Other Senior Management Members on Defined Objectives and Purchasing Status
  • Domestic and Overseas Travel to Suppliers and Contractors, as Necessary

REQUIRED

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree Qualifications
  • 10 Years Purchasing Experience in Large Scale Industrial/Scientific Equipment Manufacturing (Metal Melting Processes, Vacuum or Oil and Gas Systems are Preferred)
  • Extensive Experience of Selection and Management of Sub-Contractors
  • Ability to Read and Understand Complex Technical Drawings and Specifications
  • Understanding and Application of Cost/Design Management Process Tools
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • IT Literate, (MS Office Suite) and Administratively Efficient
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ Approach
